The Washington and Golden Hawk Archery Clubs took aim at Van Buren last weekend. The Golden Hawk Archery Club started the season firing on all cylinders, winning four team and individual championships each. The High School Hawks won the block championship with a score of 3224, beating Ottumwa’s 3217. The individual hardware also went to the Hawks with Johnathon Pickard taking the boys title at 284 with 16 tens. Eli Conrad was fifth. Averi Janecek was the girls champion with a 283 and 14 tens. Sophia Puttmann was sixth, Ava Miller seventh, Madelyn Sieren eighth, and Harlee West ninth. The Middle School Hawks won with a team score of 2991 over Ottumwa’s 2851. Braxton Ropp led Mid-Prairie as boys runner-up with a 265 and six tens. Other Golden Hawk boys included Samuel Newton fifth, Beniah Fulton eighth and Beckett Miller 10th. Ruby Regenwether led the Golden Hawk girls as runner-up with a 263 and six tens. Other Golden Hawk girls included Lara Brenneman fourth, Brooklyn Liska seventh, Josie Miller ninth and Jenna Puttmann 10th. Charlotte Wehr was girls elementary champion with a 227 and four tens. Emilia Rodgers was sixth. Logan Beachy led the boys in third at 214 with three tens. Jayce Frieden was fourth and Andrew Cue was 10th.

In 3D, the Golden Hawk High Schoolers were winners with a 1641, beating Ottumwa’s 1607. Averi Janecek made it a sweep of individual titles with her 284 and 14 tens. Other Golden Hawks included Sophia Puttmann third, Madelyn Sieren fifth, Ava Miller sixth, and Harlee West ninth. For the Golden Hawk boys, it was runner-up for Johnathon Pickard with a 283 and 16 tens. Preston Ford was ninth. The Middle School Hawks winning team score was 1492, topping Ottumwa’s 1478. Lara Brenneman was third in the girls competition with a 253 and four tens. Zayley Jaspering was fourth, Jenna Puttmann sixth, Josie Miller seventh, Brooklyn Liska eighth and Monica Beachy 10th. Braxton Ropp was best for the boys in third at 257 with 10 tens, followed by Samuel Newton seventh and Beckett Miller 10th.

The Washington Demons did not post team scores. For the high schoolers in block, Hunter Barnes was third with a 281 and 18 tens. He was also third in 3D with a 275 and 12 tens. For middle school block, Addyson Neer was the girls champion with a 266 and 12 tens. Lawson Love was the boys leader in third with a 262 and six tens. Kooper Barnes was seventh. Love was the boys 3D champ with a 264 and nine tens. Neer made it a girl’s championship sweep with a 262 and eight tens in 3D. For the Lincoln Demons, Isaac Love was ninth in boys block with a 192.
