A comedy about rivalry, friendship, and finding resolution is coming to the Washington Community Center stage, and auditions are coming up with the local community theater.
Grumpy Old Men: The Musical is based on the classic 1993 film. Set in the wintry town of Wabasha, Minnesota, the show follows the decades-long feud between neighbors John Gustafson and Max Goldman, whose lives are thrown into chaos when the beautiful and charming Ariel Truax moves in across the street.
Auditions will be held at the theater on January 16th from 5-9 p.m and January 18th from noon-6 p.m. January 19th from 5-9 p.m. will be reserved for those with conflicts on the 16th or 18th and possible call-backs.
To audition, participants can sign up for a 15-minute individual time slot, arriving 10 minutes early to fill out an audition sheet. Auditions will involve cold readings from the script and singing a few bars with the help of the musical director. Scripts are available to view at the Washington Public Library.
