
Three local wrestling squads finished the 2025 part of their schedule at the Iowa City Regina Regal Invite last week. Sigourney-Keota had the highest area team finish, placing fourth of 13 schools with 122 points. Lisbon was the winner with 196 points. SK took a pair of individual championships including Jacob Libe the winner at 138lbs with a 3-0 day in contested matches including a fall over Gavin Hove of Lisbon in the title bout. Heavyweight Owen Menke won his tournament at 3-0 in contested matches including a 7-1 championship match decision over Will Howes of MFL MarMac. Ryker VandenHuevel was third at 144lbs.
WACO was seventh with 75 points. Two Warriors won titles during their time in Iowa City including Ian Maize at 113lbs at 3-0 for the day in contested matches. Braxton Stauffer won the bracket at 190lbs, going 3-0 against competition, including a pin of Camron Zellmer of Woodbury Central in the finals. Rydge Sterna was also third for the Warriors.
Lone Tree was 12th with 20 points and the Lions got a third place finish from Trenton McKean.
