The Washington Community Theater has announced the hiring of a new Theater Manager and Technical Director. 

Mark Fischer is a native of Moberly, Missouri and comes to Washington with extensive experience in arts leadership and theatre operations. His background includes work with the 4th Street Theatre in Moberly, the Moberly Council of the Arts, and the 4th Street Players. Fischer and his family recently relocated to Washington, and his family includes his wife and four sons. 

Fischer is filling a role that has been vacant since August. The Washington Community Theater will be celebrating 50 years in 2026. To celebrate 50 years, the theater is hosting a logo design contest. Individuals can submit a logo design for the Community Theater through January 5th. The creator of the design that is selected will receive $200 and two season tickets.
