The Washington City Council unanimously approved changing the hours of operation for City Hall, and the time that their meetings begin – moving them a half hour earlier 

Over the past several months discussions regarding the start time for City Council meetings have been had according to a memo from City Administrator Joe Gaa. During that same time, there have also been discussions with staff about hours of operation at City Hall. 

The resolution proposed that the start time for City Council meetings be moved from the current 6 p.m. start time to earlier at 5:30 p.m. The resolution also proposed that City Hall open at 7:30 a.m. daily and close at 4 p.m. Currently City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The council approved the resolution, and the change to the hours for City Hall will begin the first of the year.
