Highland High School will host its second annual Christmas at the Dog Pound Toy Drive tonight ahead of the Huskies’ basketball doubleheader against WACO.
Anyone who brings an unwrapped toy to donate will receive free admittance to tonight’s games at Highland High School. Suggested toys include Barbies, action figures, balls, and card games. Toy weapons and riding toys will not be accepted. Highland Head Coach Bill Zyweic says, “It’s a great, great thing for both communities to come together, and a way for our kids to give back. I think last year, we collected close to 300 toys. So, it was a great thing for us to do and I’m looking forward to doing it again.”
The toys will be donated to the Iowa Children’s Hospital. Tonight’s WACO-Highland doubleheader will be broadcast on FM106.1, the KCII1 app, and kciiradio.com, starting at 5:30 p.m.
