The Lone Tree Lions and the WACO Warriors took part in the annual Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association Championships. 

Lone Tree took third place in Pom Class I with a total of 348 points, an average of 87 points among the four judges. The Lions also placed fourth in Lyrical Class I and eighth in Jazz Class I.

WACO placed 11th in Pom Class II with a total of 319.5 points. 

The Iowa State Dance Championships were held in Des Moines with competition for high school and college participants.
