The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a 2.8% increase for employees and elected officials after discussion on the topic at their Tuesday meeting.
Supervisor Marcus Fedler brought concerns about the overall budget when discussing the matter, “I don’t think there is another question, what does three percent do for the overall budget? Where are we at for value increase? What’s that going to do? Be nice to know that.”
Last year, the supervisors approved a 2.5% increase for staff and a 2% increase for elected officials.
The Supervisors approved the increase in a three to two vote with Stan Stoops and Fedler voting nay.
