The Keota Eagle boys and girls basketball teams both took a business trip to Victor Friday night, sweeping a South Iowa Cedar League doubleheader from HLV. The Keota boys were a 62-45 winner. The Eagles were on top 11-10 after one, then moved to a 26-18 lead at the half. They continued to pull away from HLV in the second half, winning the stanza 36-27. The Eagles shot 36% to the Warriors 33% winning rebounds 42-35, assists 18-7, steals 10-8 and turnovers 20-13. Jackson Vittetoe led the visitors with a monster 21 point, 14 rebound double double. He added six assists. Chase Haifley scored 14 points. The Eagles are 2-0 as HLV drops to 1-2.

The Eagle girls overcame a slow start to remain unbeaten 57-31. HLV led 11-7 after one, but a 23-9 Keota run in the second put them up for good at 30-20 at half. The Eagles outscored the Warriorettes the rest of the way 27-11, including a 14-4 run that spanned the full third quarter. Keota shot 33% from the floor, behind 36% from HLV. Each team had 27 rebounds. Keota had 23 steals and forced 34 HLV turnovers. Individually, Cameron Haifley was the leader with 24 points, Emily Conger scored 15 and had four assists, and Elyse Lyle just missed a triple double with 11 points, nine boards and eight steals. Keota is 4-0 as HLV falls to 0-3.
