The competition was fierce and the margin was a razor’s edge Thursday night at Montezuma for the Sigourney-Keota boys wrestling team in a quad dual where each was decided on criteria.

SK scored a 31-30 win over the Baxter Bolts on tiebreaking Criteria E, most wins by forfeit. In the other two contests, Criteria E was not as kind to the Savages as it was the deciding factor in a pair of 37-36 losses to Cardinal and the home Braves.

Several Savages put together perfect 3-0 nights including Ryker VanDenHuevel, Luke Flynn, Dillon Menke and Owen Menke all with a pair of pins. Max Peterson was 3-0 with one fall and Ayden Parker went 2-1 on the night with a pair of pins.

SK is now 1-2 on the dual season.
