Mother nature made it take an extra day, but local teams were able to roll out the mats Tuesday at the Fort Madison girls wrestling tournament after a postponement Monday.
Top finish for area schools went to Sigourney-Keota in fifth place with 134 points. Ottumwa won the meet with 168 points. The Savages crowned three champions on the day. Sadie Clarahan was the winner at 125, pinning her way to the top of the podium including a finals fall over Rylee Caviness of Van Buren. Kia Montgomery was the champ at 130 with three falls including a pin in the title bout over Aubree Bunnell of Fort Madison. Layla Schilling won the championship at 135 with three pins including a finals fall over Bryleigh Sparks of Cardinal.
Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union was 15th of 20 teams with 23 points. Jada Moats led the way for the Wildcats with a runner-up 2-1 day that included a pair of pins before dropping the title match to Kylee Hill of Burlington.
