The Friends of Lake Darling received a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation during the fall grant presentation. 

The grant is in the amount of $52,500 and will help build a kayak launch at Lake Darling. This will help to ensure that kayaking is accessible to everyone. An ADA-Compliant Kayak Launch provides safe, independent access for paddlers of all abilities. Meeting and exceeding ADA standards, the launch system removes barriers to entry with stable, low-profile docks, handrails, and transfer benches.

The WCRF is the nonprofit license holder for the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, which provides the entirety of its funding. In 2025 WCRF awarded 15 spring grants, 19 fall grants, 8 municipal, and 4 surprise grants totaling $6,466,279.
