Volleyball star Jovi Evans has had a storied career on the court at Mid-Prairie. The senior got one more chance to put on the black and gold and represent the Hawks at the 2025 Iowa Girls Coaches Association Senior All-Star game in Johnston Saturday. Evans was one of 32 players chosen from across the State, in all classes, to be a part of last Saturday’s festivities. She was a member of the Bulldogs team which included Avery Vogt of Waukee Northwest, Maegan Cheeseman of Ankeny Centennial, Scarlett Winterfeld of Western Christian, Bailey Mullihan of Denver, Bre VanDenTop of Sergeant Bluff Lutton, Rowan Jacob of Springville, and Abby Jensen of Dike-New Hartford. The group was coached by John Fulton of Norwalk.

Evans ended her career at Mid-Prairie with more than 2000 assists and 1000 kills and digs each. She was a former River Valley Conference Player of the Year and multi-time First-team All-River Valley Conference, All-District and All-State selection. Evans has been a key catalyst in the record setting run for the Golden Hawk program which has included three straight RVC titles, three straight 30-win seasons and back-to-back trips to the State Tournament, all firsts for Mid-Prairie. Evans ended this year with 432 kills, third most in Class 3A, 58 aces, sixth in 3A, and a .351 swing efficiency, ninth highest in the state, to go with 402 assists, seventh in conference with 424 digs and 34 blocks on defense. The Golden Hawks finished the year at 30-10 in the Class 3A State Quarterfinals at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
