A new officer has joined the Washington Police Department.  On Monday, Mayor Millie Youngquist swore in the newest member of the Washington Police Department, Officer Morgan Light.

Officer Light brings 6.5 years of prior law enforcement experience with the Fairfield and Iowa City Police Departments and a strong commitment to engaging with the community. She is also Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certified. 

There are now seven officers in the Washington Police Department.
