The new stoplight at the intersection of East Washington Street and South 12th Avenue is scheduled to be turned on this Thursday, November 20th.

This added stoplight is designed to help make the T-intersection safer and improve traffic flow in the area. Drivers are reminded to take an extra moment to pay attention to the new signals and drive with care during the transition. The stoplights were installed in August, and the price of the project was $227,600.25, which was below the projected cost.

The intersection update includes crosswalks on both East Washington and South 12th, so watch and yield for pedestrians in the crosswalks. The planned conversion from the current four-lanes of traffic to a three-lane layout has been postponed and will take place in the spring.
