The CPKC Holiday Train will make several stops in southeast Iowa later this month as it makes its way through Canada and the United States raising money, food and awareness for food banks. The train will travel through the KCII-listening area.

The brightly-decorated train will stop in Muscatine on November 25th at 7:45 p.m, and Ottumwa on November 26th at 10 a.m. At both locations, Smash Mouth and JJ Wilde will put on a free, 30-minute concert. Donations of money or non-perishable food items are encouraged. Those donations stay in the community, and will be given to the local food bank.

In between each stop, the train can be seen making its way to its next location. The train’s path will take it through Richland, Washington, Ainsworth and Columbus Junction. Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and 5.4 million pounds of food for food banks both in Canada and the United States.
