A four-year old child was flown by AirCare after being hit by an SUV in Wapello over the weekend. According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, a Kia Sorento driven by 29-year old Katelin Lilly of Wapello turned into an alley near 408 Jefferson Street. The SUV struck a four-year old in the alley. 

The child was taken by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital with serious injuries. 

Agencies assisting at the scene included the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
