The Crawfordsville City Council saw a tie on election night for the third council seat. Tom Gerot was drawn as the third representative.

According to Washington County Auditor Tammy Stewart, the Board of Canvassers, which is typically the Board of Supervisors, will literally draw the name from a “hat” when ties occur in local elections. Gerot and Sheila Baker had each received 26 votes.

The other people filling the seats are Jordan Hill and Aaron Richardson. Gerot’s name was drawn on Wednesday at the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting during their first canvass of election results.

The second canvass of votes will be taking place on November 18th.
