Veterans Day is on Tuesday, and several organizations across Washington County are hosting events in observance of the federal holiday.

Mid-Prairie High School will host its annual Veterans’ Day assembly, at which the school’s music department will perform. Following the assembly, the Mid-Prairie Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) club will host a complimentary lunch for those in attendance. 

American Legion Post 29 will host a breakfast and present colors at the Washington Hy-Vee, where the Washington High School Band will perform the national anthem. A service will be hosted at Blair House at 10 a.m. In the evening, the Legion will host a free dinner with freewill donation at Dallmeyer Hall on the Washington County Fairgrounds beginning at 5:30 p.m.

In Riverside, VFW Post 6414 will post colors at the main entrance of the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort at 10:15 a.m. ahead of a free buffet lunch for veterans hosted by the casino.
