The City of Wellman is assisting residents with their yard waste cleanup as leaves continue to fall and the weather continues to cool.

The city announced on Tuesday that free yard waste bags are available for resident use at city hall. Those who call city hall before 8 a.m. on Monday morning can have those bags picked up at the beginning of the week.

Yard waste including sticks, leaves and grass clippings can be collected in the bags and placed on the curb for pickup, but the city will not collect any leaves outside of the bag, even if raked to the curb.

The city will provide the service through the remainder of November and said it may extend service into December if weather permits.
