Welcome To Riverside

The Riverside City Council approved what it expects to be the final change order on the Cherry Lane Extension Project at its meeting on Monday.

The change order, which covered watering costs during resodding around the new road extension, increased the project cost by $2000 to $251,846.57. This was the third change order on the project, which had an original contract cost of $247,887.77 as approved by the council in February.

The council also approved a pay application on the project, leaving only one step to close the project out according to City Administrator Cole Smith. The council will need to approve one more pay application to release retainage held throughout the construction process to officially complete the project.

Construction on the project finished in August in alignment with the new school year. One goal of the project was to ease traffic congestion near Riverside Elementary School.

The change order and pay application were both approved unanimously.
