
A Waterloo woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, eluding, interference with official acts, and several traffic violations following a chase near Crawfordsville on Sunday.
According to court records, 59-year-old Sheri Roberts of Waterloo was observed by a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy swerving and crossing the centerline multiple times, hard breaking, and varying speeds, capping out at 75. When the deputy turned on his emergency lights and sirens, Roberts failed to yield, leading to a chase. The incident happened on Highway 218 near Crawfordsville at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday.
After failing to respond to commands and struggling to maintain her balance, Roberts was taken into custody. She was charged with operating while intoxicated – second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor; eluding, a serious misdemeanor; interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor; and several scheduled traffic violations, including an open container violation, speeding, and improper lane change.
She was taken to the Washington County Jail.
