A partnership between the Washington Economic Development Group and the City of Washington saw the next step completed Tuesday with a house moved into town.
The single-level home was moved from Pleasantview in Kalona to its new location at 320 North Avenue C in Washington. According to WEDG Executive Director Mary Audia, Goodwin House Movers facilitated the move beginning early Tuesday morning. They were assisted with the move by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington Police Department. Dirt work to prepare the site was completed in early October. The house sits on a full basement.
This project’s goal is to bring an affordable home to the City of Washington, which is a main part of WEDG’s strategic plan. WEDG also focuses on workforce and childcare development in Washington County. The house will be put on the market for sale in the near future.
