Downtown Washington will be busy for Trick or Treat Around the Square Friday.
All of the ghosts and goblins can get their candy from downtown retailers. Downtown businesses will be set up outside their stores on the square, ready to hand out treats to all the participants. This year will also feature a best dressed business costume contest judged by Main Street Washington. The event will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. with over 20 local businesses participating.
Along with Trick or Treat on the square, the City of Washington will also be holding a citywide event from 6 to 8 p.m. Dress up in your favorite costume and explore neighborhoods across Washington. Participating homes will have their porch lights turned on to welcome trick-or-treaters. As a reminder, only visit homes with porch lights on, stay in groups and follow traffic safety rules, and be respectful of property.
