The Sigourney Savage volleyball team closed the year in the opening round of the Class 2A postseason tournament, dropping a four set match at Eddyville-Blakesburg this week. The Rockets beat the Savages 25-19, 23-25, 25-21 and 27-25. Top Sigourney performers included Kayla Renner with 15 assists. Becca Gretter with 16 digs and 14 assists. Bailey Gretter with 13 kills and 13 digs. Charli Smothers and Addy Fineran with six kills each. Clara Hanselman had six blocks and Ella Bruns six aces. Sigourney ends their season at 12-10 as EBF advances in the tournament with a mark of 14-17. The Savages say goodbye to four seniors including Charli Smothers, Kayla Renner, Addy Fineran and Bailey Pfannebecker.
