
The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves volleyball team advanced through the opening round of the Class 1A regional tournament Monday with a four set victory over the visiting Pekin Panthers. The match went to WMU by scores of 25-20, 16-25, 25-22 and 25-22. Stat-leaders for the Lady Wolves included Madisen Kellogg with 17 assists. Six kills each for Kaelyn Townsley and Katie Miller. Miller had 21 digs. Jayda Nicholas 19 digs and six aces. WMU is now 17-10 on the year as Pekin finishes at 12-15. The Wolves are into the 1A Regional Quarterfinals Wednesday against top five Holy Trinity on the road.
