The Keota Eagle volleyball team is into the second round of the Class 1A regional tournament after a four set home win over English Valleys Monday. The match belonged to Keota 25-22, 19-25, 25-14 and 25-15. Following the match, Eagle seniors Olivia Lyle, Addison Purkeypile, Reese Conrad and Kennedy Jackson talked with KCII Sports about the win. “We got on a few runs tonight, especially in that fourth set. At the beginning of the match, we started off strong and kept pushing. The big momentum push was when we lost the second set and it pushed us forward. We didn’t want to lose. Seniors didn’t want this to be our last match. That got us back in it. When we finally got that last point it was such of a rush of excitement that we had won our last home game. We were just like okay, let’s just end it right here. We’ve started a new tradition (to celebrate wins). We do a victory ride around town and it’s pretty fun!”
The Eagles advance to the 1A Region 3 quarterfinals tonight to take on top 15, 19-10 Cedar Ridge Christian on the road
