The PAWS & More Animal Shelter, in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Animal Rescue League, removed 23 living animals and six deceased animals from a property in rural Washington County this week.
PAWS & More has taken in 12 of the rescued animals, while the Animal Rescue League took in 11 dogs, as well as livestock and a pony. The animals are now safe, but many are described as being in fragile health and in need of veterinary care, warm shelter, and basic comfort items. Shelter Director Amber Talbot shared more about the rescue, “We never wish to find these situations, but I guess we’re just glad that someone was able to report it and action can actually happen, and these animals didn’t have to wait any longer.”
The shelter is seeking donations of towels and blankets, as well as monetary contributions to support veterinary care for these animals. If you would like to donate, donations can be dropped off at the shelter 1004 1/2 W Madison, Washington. There is also a link for monetary donations with this news story at KCIIRadio.com.
