The Washington Demon cross country teams went to work this weekend, traveling to Saturday’s North Linn meet in Troy Mills. The Washington boys were team runners-up of 11 with 66 points, edged out by Solon’s 65. Individual leader was Andrew Rees as runner-up in 16:34, one second behind winner Alex Torres of Vinton-Shellsburg. Other Washington runners included Jack Shepherd seventh, Ethan Hotchkiss 14^th, Sawyer Tschantz 21^st, Teag Miller 22^nd, Parker Tschantz 55^th, and Fletcher Brower 58^th.

The Washington girls were fifth of 11 schools with 131 points. Solon won the title with 56 points. Individually, Iris Dahl was 10^th in 20:24. Lauren Krogmann of Starmont was the winner in 19:10. Other Demons included Kora Miller 22^nd, Emma Horak 25^th, Angeline Anderson 32^nd, Elli Van Der Molen 51^st, Zully Aranda Terrones 65^th and Allie Wulf 67^th.
