Individually, Ramer is 37 of 71 throwing for 667 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. Gast is the top target with 21 catches, 471 yards and seven touchdowns. DeLong leads on the ground with 92 carries 443 yards and seven scores. Defensively, Frantz has 34 tackles and nine Wildcats have a takeaway. Durant ranks in the top 10 of 1A football in 15 categories. This week, SK head football coach Jared Jensen talked about his team’s focus for week seven. “We have got to play physical. I went to the Durant/Regina game a few weeks ago and I thought Durant was the most physical team on the field early. They’re going to be big. We haven’t seen them in a couple years but, we’ve had some battles with them here in the past. They’ve got another DeLong on the team, a big offensive line and a big defensive line, fullback and linebackers, so, we’re going to have to play our brand of football. Be the most physical team on the field and execute. That’s something we just haven’t done. Give the guys with the ball an opportunity on offense. We have to find a way to sustain blocks against Durant and get bodies in the open field. Defensively, I feel confident. They’ll be a run team. They’ll throw the ball some but, it’s going to be a battle of physicality and the run game and hopefully we can win that matchup.”
The Cobras have won two of the last three meetings between the two schools, but it was the Wildcats that were a 38-14 winner in their most recent contest in 2022. SK will honor nine seniors including Aydin Flowers, Jacob Libe, Brayden Wood, John Berg, Wells Clark, Cael Jaeger, Owen Menke, Aidyn Parker, and Ty Goldman at Friday’s game. Action starts at 7p.m. At Sigourney High School.
