Three local schools took on a loaded cross country field from multiple states Saturday at the Dan Huston/Steve Johnson Invitational on the campus of Wartburg College.

The No. 1 in Class 2A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls finished 12th of 25 teams competing with 380 points. Pleasant Valley from the Quad Cities won the meet with 44 points. Top Golden Hawk finisher was Brooklyn Stutzman 15th in 19:32. The winner was Joley Sullivan from Davenport Central in 17:47. Other Golden Hawk finishers included Rebekah Wallington 49th, Hannah Rodgers 79th, Nikkari Poll 133rd, Averi Janecek 147th, Ella Chiang 163rd, Leah Kelley 180th, Alaina Safly 195th, Samantha Wunderlich 201st, Gwen Wunderlich 209th.

The Mid-Prairie boys were 31st of 35 teams with 773 points, Indianola was the winner with 70 points. Top Golden Hawk finisher was Max Swartzentruber in 85th at 17:37. Canaan Dunham of Pella was the winner in 14:54. Other Golden Hawk finishers were Luke Brokaw 130th, Jesse Stultz 164th, Reece Waters 240th, Archie Damschen 250th, Tyson Huber 259th, Carl Gustafson 261st, Ben Lothamer 265th, Johnathon Pickard 274th, and Landon Hough 283rd.

The Columbus boys were 27th with 703 points. Top Wildcat was Ryan Villa in 96th at 17:49. Other ‘Cats included Kevin Villa 128th, Cade Storm 155th, Victor Tovar 181st, Elias Gonzalez-Bravo 217th, Elias Duran 237th, and Alan Miranda 270th.

Sigourney’s Troy Klett was the boys leader in 52nd at 17:08. Cole Klett was 267th. Cloee Wilson for the Savage girls was 161st.
