Six local schools have marked a spot in the latest team and individual cross country rankings issued by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

In Class 3A, the Washington Demons have a pair in the individual poll. Iris Dahl is No. 17 for the girls and Andrew Rees No. 20 for the boys.

In Class 2A, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls maintain their hold on the No. 1 spot in the state. The Hawks have Brooklyn Stutzman at No. 6 in the individual rankings.

In Class 1A, the WACO Warrior boys are the top area team in the rankings at No. 5. Jude Dykstra is No. 6 in the 1A individual poll for the Warriors. The Columbus Wildcats are right behind the Warriors at No. 6 in the team rankings. The Sigourney Savages have Troy Klett at No. 22 in the individual 1A poll.

In this week’s 1A girls rankings WACO’s Josie Dykstra stands at No. 24 and Hillcrest Academy’s Marie Yoder is No. 28.
