The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of a new Sheriff’s Deputy Tuesday.

Chief Deputy Shawn Ellingson presented the personnel change request, and spoke on how he felt the new deputy would be a good fit for the county, “Tyler Anderson is who was our applicant that we are hoping to add on to as 92-23. He’s a Sergeant with Fairfield PD right now, I think six years of experience with Fairfield PD. So, this will be a great addition to us. He comes with a lot of experience, he’s done some FTO (Field Training Officer), he’s a firearms instructor, so we are really excited to get Tyler in here.”

Deputy Anderson will begin his new role in patrol for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in October.
