A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested on drug stamp and trafficking charges on Monday, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department and the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Taskforce, executed two search warrants on Monday following a lengthy investigation into 58-year-old Bobby Skraggs of Mt. Pleasant.

According to court records, while executing a search warrant, the sheriff’s office seized 273 grams of methamphetamine and large quantities of cash. Skraggs said the drugs were for personal use, however other items found with the drugs including a scale, spoon and measuring cup are often associated with distribution, according to the court report.

Skraggs was arrested and charged with one count of controlled substance violation, a class B felony, and one count of failure to affix drug stamp, a class D felony.

Skraggs is currently being held in the Henry County Jail on a cash bail of $30,000. His preliminary appearance is scheduled for October 3.
