The Kalona Fall Festival is taking place this Friday and Saturday, and will be the final stop on the 2025 KCII Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour.

Thirteen local performers and ensembles will perform each day of the festival, including the Hillcrest Academy music department and five different Mid-Priairie music ensembles – the choir, band, jazz band, strings, and percussion ensemble – on Friday.

Throughout the festival, children will be able to participate in activities including face painting, pony rides, a corn bin, barrel train rides, farm activities, and activities from the Kalona Public Library.

Festival attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of several artisan tasks, including 1800s food production, leather working and woodworking.

Food at the festival will range from meats from local vendors to homemade desserts to national and international classics like shrimp po’boys and empanadas.

The annual festival will take place at the Kalona Historical Village. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children ages four and under. Wristbands received upon admission will get festival-goers into both days of the event.

KCII will broadcast from the Fall Festival Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon as the conclusion of the 2025 Summer Town Tour. The one to count on to take you where the action is, KCII.
