
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team handled business at Wilton Thursday night with a sweep of the Beavers on their home floor in a key River Valley Conference contest. The No. 4 in Class 3A Hawks beat the No. 10 in 3A Beavers in straight sets 31-29, 25-22 and 25-19. Mid-Prairie led wire-to-wire in set two, but had to rally in the first and final frames to secure the win. The Hawks were led on the night by 23 assists for Avery Helmuth. Jovi Evans went triple double with 19 assists, 18 kills, and 15 digs. Harper Pacha had 13 kills and a team best four blocks. Jeorgia Evans finished with 19 digs, eight kills, a block and an ace, Katelyn Harland eight kills, eight digs, three blocks and two aces. Elise Foster’s 20 digs led the defense. Mid-Prairie is now 13-4 overall and alone atop the River Valley at 3-0. Wilton is 13-2 on the year and 1-2 in league play. The Hawks are off until a Tuesday matchup with Durant.
