Drivers noticed cones on Highway 92 beginning on Tuesday evening in the Washington city limits. 

Washington City Administrator Joe Gaa shared the Iowa Department of Transportation is doing some pavement patching and tree trimming along this route. Flaggers were present to guide motorists. According to the Iowa DOT, the work was scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.  

If drivers travel east out of Washington on Highway 92, they will notice more construction being done by the Iowa DOT. Between Highway 1 in Washington and County Road W66, which is one mile east of the Ainsworth area. Road construction work is in progress. A lane will be closed intermittently, and flaggers are also stationed there to guide traffic. This work is expected to continue until September 23rd.
