
Two local volleyball teams spent Saturday on the court in Wilton for their varsity tournament. Winfield-Mt. Union put together a 2-3 day that included a win over Mediapolis 21-16 and 21-15 and local school Highland 21-7 and 21-6. WMU was also beaten by Mount Pleasant 21-11 and 21-15, Burlington 21-14, 20-22 and 15-8 and the home Beavers 21-14 and 21-11. Leaders for the Lady Wolves included Madisen Kellogg with 50 assists, 16 kills for Kellee Milks and 13 kills for Quin Smith with eight aces and five blocks and Katie Miller and Milks with 35 digs each. Winfield-Mt. Union is now 8-4 on the year.
Highland was beaten in their five weekend matches by Burlington 21-9 and 21-13, Mediapolis 21-14 and 21-14, Mt. Pleasant 21-14 and 21-19, and the home Beavers 21-9 and 21-8. Leaders for the Huskies by the numbers included Adisyn Prottsman with 16 assists, Ava Sexton with 12. Sexton and Kamryn Fink had eight kills each. Emersyn Schultz put up 30 digs, Fink 22. Fink added three blocks and two aces, Prottsman had a pair of aces. Highland is now 3-12 on the year.
