A two-vehicle crash involving a school bus carrying students from the WACO Community School District occurred just west of Wayland Monday afternoon.WACO Superintendent Spencer Lueders shared that no students on the bus were injured in the crash.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:17 p.m., authorities received reports of the crash at the corner of Highway 78 and Benton Avenue, approximately one mile west of Wayland. The Henry County sheriff’s office, the Iowa State Patrol, Henry County Health Center, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Wayland Fire and Rescue, Wayland Police Department, and WACO transportation officials responded to the scene. 

Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee stated that the second vehicle involved was a car. 

Names of those involved and the cause of the collision have not yet been released.  KCII News will provide more information as it becomes official.
