The Hillcrest Academy Raven volleyball team broke out the brooms on their rivals from Lone Tree on the road Thursday, sweeping the Lady Lions in a Southeast Iowa Superconference win. The Ravens had the match by scores of 25-21, 25-8 and 25-12. Hillcrest leaders included Claire Withrow with 23 assists, 11 kills for Niva Helmuth, 10 digs and seven aces from Brynna Boshart, and a pair of blocks for Ruth Whitthoft. Lone Tree leaders were Selena Vargas with six assists, Delanie Graap with five digs, Oliva Magruder with three kills, and Alyson Ford with three blocks. The win pushes Hillcrest to 9-3 as the Lions remain winless at 0-7.
