Individual leaders include Miller with 162 assists, Farmer with 104 digs, Messinger with 98 kills and a .273 swing efficiency, and Green with 24 blocks and 16 aces.
Pella Christian is 7-5 on the year, 2-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference and winners of six straight after beating Creston and the home Hawks in sweeps at Woodward-Granger Thursday. This year the Eagles have 245 kills, 219 assists and a .163 swing efficiency with 359 digs, 53 blocks and 74 service aces. Individually, Brynn Runner’s 183 assists are best with Brynn Roozeboom at 84 kills and 68 digs, Addie Van Arendonk has 21 aces and Sophia Slagter 15 blocks. Last week, Washington head coach Aaron Six talked with KCII Sports about how he’s seeing things come together as the Demons elevate their play. “We’ve played really well offensively. We’ve been very aggressive at the net. I thought we have been doing a nice job as far as getting the block up. We’re getting touches on things. When we have been able to set a good block, our passers have been able to get into the seams and read the ball coming to them. We’re getting into that mental mindset where we can play with any opponent. It’s a matter of us having the confidence to step on the floor. We still have some little things that we’re doing that are mental things we need to shore up.”
This is the first matchup between the two schools in more than 20 years. Action starts tonight at 7:15p.m. At the Demon Den.
