The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Wellman woman on Thursday in connection with a Johnson County hit and run.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a request for assistance from the Johnson County Sheriff’s office at 6:41 p.m. Thursday. Three deputy units responded to the call and arrested 40-year-old Laenna Whitenack of Wellman.

Whitenack was charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, and assault on persons in certain occupations.

Whitenack’s information was also forwarded to Johnson County officials. Whitenack has pleaded not guilty on all charges, her next appearance has not yet been scheduled.

She was taken to the Washington County Jail.
