The Louisa County Reserves completed their school supply drive earlier this week, delivering the proceeds to each of the county’s four school districts on Wednesday.
Each district, Columbus Community, Wapello, Louisa-Muscatine and Morning Sun, received a large box of supplies containing items including pencils, crayons, notebooks, folders, markers, pencil cases, whiteout, highlighters and pencil sharpeners. A $100 check was also given to each district following monetary donations from several local organizations and individuals.
Additionally, Wapello Family Dollar received a monetary donation which it will use to buy shoes and socks for students in need.
This was the first year of the supply drive for Louisa County Reserves.
