There were no road worries for the No. 4 in Class 3A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team as they opened up River Valley Conference play with a three set sweep of the Bears at West Branch Thursday. The Hawks took the contest by scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-16. Stat-leaders on the night included Avery Helmuth with 16 assists and Jovi Evans with 15. In the kills category Jovi Evans had 14, Jeorgia Evans seven, Laurin Fay six and Katelyn Harland and Harper Pacha five each. Defensively, Jeorgia Evans put up 13 digs, 12 each for Jovi Evans and Elise Foster and 11 for Harland. Harland also led with three blocks, Fay had two. Pacha posted five aces, Jeorgia Evans three and Foster two. Mid-Prairie remains unbeaten at 9-0 going into a rivalry match Monday at Washington.
