The Kalona City Council upcoming meeting is expected to include discussion of parking regulations for agricultural equipment in downtown Kalona.
After making its way to the agenda in July and August, the council chose to table the topic in order to gather more information and give city staff more time to refine the ordinance. As it stood at its most recent public reading, the proposed change would restrict parking for agricultural vehicles in the area between 4th Street, 6th Street, A Avenue and D Avenue. It would also restrict driving in that area for such vehicles on 5th Street, B Avenue, C Avenue and any alleyways in the area.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Kalona Community Center, a change to the usual schedule due to the Labor Day holiday.
