Soil moisture levels remained adequate last week according to the Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report released by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture condition rated 79% adequate and 3% surplus in southeast Iowa. Subsoil moisture condition rated 87% adequate and 3% surplus.

Ames reported the week’s highest temperature of 97 degrees on the 17th, 16 degrees above normal. Spencer Municipal Airport in Clay County recorded the week’s lowest temperature of 45 degrees on the 24th, 13 degrees below normal.
