The Washington Chamber of Commerce is preparing for a busy Fall Craft Fair.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Redlinger presented a change to the Washington City Council at their recent meeting, needing more space for vendors, “So our current park allows for 130 10×10 booths, and we are excited to announce that they are full weeks away from the event, which is the first time that we’ve had that capacity. We’ve been doing the craft fair in the fall for 36 years in Washington. And last year, we worked with some people to help track visitors to the area; it brought almost 5,000 visitors to the community on that day.”

The request to the council was to close a lane of parking spaces on Main Street and keep an eastbound driving lane open. This would allow the Chamber to expand the area for vendors for the fair. The council unanimously approved the request. The 36th Annual Fall Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, September 6th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Washington’s Central Park square. Over 100 vendors and 10 food trucks will be on-site
