The Mid-Prairie School Board is set to meet for the first time following students returning to classrooms in a work session on Monday, with the board set to tour the new MP Activities Center.

The Activity Center project was officially approved by the board earlier this year with the acceptance of bids in April.

The budget for the 12,960 square foot facility, which will be the new home of the Mid-Prairie Wrestling Team upon its completion, was set at $5.59 million.

The board is also expected to discuss the upcoming school board election in November, which it continues to seek candidates for. The filing period for the election is now open, and the topic has been raised by district business manager and board secretary Jeff Swartzentruber at each of the last several meetings.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Central Office Community Room.
