Olds Fire and Rescue and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle fire twice on Highway 218 on Tuesday .

The first occurred at approximately 11:53 a.m. in the 1200 block of Highway 218 East of Olds. A semi truck caught on fire on the highway, causing four members of each agency, as well as one member of Mt. Pleasant Fire and Rescue, to respond to the scene, where the flames were extinguished.

At around 2:23 p.m., the sheriff’s office received reports of the truck reigniting, forcing crews to return to the scene. Four sheriff’s officers and five members of Olds Fire and Rescue responded. The crews extinguished the flames once again.

Crews were not requested again following the second call.
