Highland Elementary School has changed its drop-off procedure for the upcoming school year.

The Schnoebelen Street parking lot entrance will only be open for buses and school faculty. Parents are now asked to drop students off on Kloepfer between the crossing guards. Highland Elementary Principal Jane O’Leary explained the reasoning for the changes, “Hopefully it will be more efficient, hopefully it will be safer, and maybe it will stop some of the congestion on Schnoebelen Street.”

Students walking to school are still asked to walk on Kloepfer, where the only crossing guards are currently stationed, or on the East side of Schnoebelen, where they do not need to cross any streets to reach the school.

The school is still looking for additional crossing guards, those interested should contact O’Leary.
